Our little man is 2 months old!!!

Today our little guy is 2 months old. Oh how the time fly's!!! We absolutely love this boy and he has definitely changed our lives for the better! The day he came home it just felt as though our family was becoming more complete. With everything this little guy and I went through, I appreciate him that much more.
Here are some facts about Konner!!
1- He loves, loves, loves to snuggle. He would do it all night long if I let him.
2- He loves to eat but what boy doesn't ;)
3- He's a good sleeper. Unless he's gassy, he eats and goes right back to sleep at night. I can
even put him in his crib awake and he'll go to sleep.
4- He now weighs 11 lbs.
5- He is very strong! His neck and arms and legs amaze me!
6- He has Erik's toes to a T.
7-He's losing his brown hair :(  It's receding and will soon be gone and probably come in blond.
That's what Avery's did.
8- He loves the tub. The look on his face cracks me up. He would love to just stay in there.
9- He hates getting out of the tub. He always cries.
10- He has specific ways he likes to be held and cries if Erik can't master them.
I guess he just loves mommy!! :)

The goods of 2010!!!

I was just on a friends blog and noticed she had logged her reads for 2010. I liked that idea because one, it helps me to keep track of some of the books I've read and loved and two, it may give you an idea for a book to read if you're looking for one.
These are a trilogy and I just got the third!! Love them! This is an L.D.S. writer and she is great. This trilogy is about world war two. It takes place in Germany. They are fantastic and I learned a lot too.
Traitor- Sandra Grey
Tribunal- Sandra Grey
Trespass- currently reading- Sandra Grey

Altered State- Greg Luke

The Hunger Games
Catching Fire
Mocking Jay
Book of Mormon
Joseph Smith teachings

All of these books have been awesome and I may have missed one or two that I've read this year but I seriously loooove reading so if anyone has any recommendations, I would love to hear them. I'm sure most of you know about the Hunger Games trilogy but the other trilogy I've been reading, I really like and I would highly recommend them. They are long and full of historical events.

First day of primary!!! "I don't want to be a sunbeam!"

This past Sunday was Avery's first day of primary. When I first told her she was going to Sunbeams, she was so excited but then, I guess she gave it a little more thought and decided she wasn't so thrilled by the idea. On the way to church she kept saying, "I don't want to be a sunbeam!" I thought she would get over it by the time we got to church but no such luck. She cried the whole time. I teach the CTR 6 so I couldn't sit with her but I made sure she saw me sitting in the back. Erik sat with her the whole time, but didn't go to class with her. She didn't like class either. Her teacher had to hold her the whole time. I'm sure she'll get over it cause she's usually not too clingy. I can't wait until she gets involved and I can watch her singing. I'm lucky to be able to see her in there. Here's what we captured before she decided she didn't want to be a sunbeam :)

Christmas!!!!

Christmas is my favorite time of year and as Avery gets older, it's even more exciting! On Christmas eve we had so much fun making and decorating cookies for Santa. Later that night we went to the gift of lights. With a new baby, it was kind of nice to just be able to drive, look at a ton of Christmas lights, stay warm with the heater all while listening to Christmas music.  For weeks Avery had been talking about Santa so it was nice to finally tell her he was coming that night. She had asked Santa for a doll house and boy did he deliver. I thought this was the cutest doll house and she absolutely loves it!! We had a very merry Christmas at our house!!

This doll house is awesome! It's four feet tall!

I got this fan for Erik for his desk. It was kind of funny cause it seemed so stupid but he loved it.

Some one doesn't like his present in his stocking :(

A birthday girl and a trip to see Santa!!

With all the madness going on in our lives, I completely forgot to post Avery's third birthday!! Avery turned three on the tenth of November, just a day before Konner was born. Because I was on bed rest and we were preparing for a very big surgery, we decided to keep her b-day low key. We didn't have a party like I had originally planned but we definitely wanted to make it special for her. We invited one of her friends and we went to Red Robin and had lots of fun! She got a make-up from her friend Bailey and a big girl bike and a princess doll from mommy and daddy. We sure love this girl and are so blessed to have her as our daughter!! Last night, Avery and I went with some friends to see Santa. Avery looooves Santa and can't wait for him to bring her a doll house and some dolls!

Avery helped her self to the make-up while we weren't looking!

Getting ready for CHRISTMAS!!!

This is my favorite time of year! I love the holidays and I'm so glad I get to enjoy them off of the couch!! Yay! Getting the tree ready this year was really fun because Avery is old enough to know what's going on, and she was loving getting all the decorations out. She talks about Santa on a daily bases and thinks he should be coming every night. I'm so excited for her reaction this year!!

Our little man, Konner!

Whew, things are starting to feel normal around our house again! So here's a little update. Konner got to come home from the NICU on Saturday. We were so excited! He is such a sweet little boy! He doesn't cry much just when he's hungry or you're messing with him, like changing him or something and even then, it's just for a second. It's definitely a challenge getting used to getting up throughout the night, but I definitely enjoy the cuddle time. Erik is amazing too! He is so willing to get up with him and does often, even though he has to get up super early to study. I am so grateful for him, he is such a good husband and daddy! I am healing nicely and so relieved to be off of bed rest, still have my uterus and have this nightmare over with!! Thank you to all of those who helped us! I know you had to do it often and we are so grateful!!!

A Konner update!!

I am home, my surgery went awesome!!! I didn't have the placenta acreta and I got to keep my uterus! So more babies for us! However, we need to get the one we had home first. Konner went into the NICU right after he was born. He had a hard time getting the eating thing down but I guess that's common at that gestation. So they fed him through a feeding tube. Then they started feeding him with a bottle. They want him to eat a certain amount without falling asleep. Okay, what baby doesn't fall asleep while eating?! I'm beyond frustrated so if you've texted me and I haven't answered, it's because I have been overwhelmed with texts and I'm about to have a break down. I want my baby home, I want some answers and every time I ask the nurses, they say one more day, one more day. I'm going absolutely crazy! So crazy, that we've called our pediatrician to see if they can help us out! We're sick of no answers. All they say is he needs to eat a certain amount without falling asleep. It's really upsetting me. Hopefully this weekend, I will have better news. Until then, I am a nervous wreck!

What am I thinking??

Yesterday, we found out we are going to get to have our little Konner next Friday. What am I thinking? I'm thrilled! I can't wait to meet this little guy but also, I am very scared. I've had a c-section before but that's not what I am scared about. I'm scared about what they are going to find in there, which could quite possibly be a placenta that has fused to my uterus. I could bleed immensely, need a transfusion and possibly loose my uterus. That is hard to swallow. Someone telling you you can't have anymore kids is awful, and I may get lucky and that may not happen. I'm really hoping so but when I think about getting pregnant again and going through this kind of stuff again, I panic. It will take me a long time to get over this and be brave enough to do it again. At least I am feeling one thing and that is so ready!!! I will be 37 weeks and so done. I can't sleep at night. I'm always hurting and uncomfortable, but I've been trying to enjoy this because I have to wonder if this is the last time I will feel a little baby moving around inside of me. :(

Happy Halloween!

Although this year we didn't get to do the normal festivities of going to pumpkin patches and such, we still had fun and I'm so glad I was able to make Avery's costume and be home to get her ready for the trunk or treat. I probably shouldn't have went but I didn't want to miss out on the fun for my little punk rocker. I just sat in a chair at the car and handed out candy while Erik took her around to the other trunks. I'm just so grateful I wasn't hanging out in the hospital!! Avery had so much fun and she loved her costume!! I love getting her all dressed up for Halloween, it's one of my favorite things!
