a TrIp To ThE tReEs!

On Saturday, we drove up to Charleston Mtn to get out of the heat and witness the beautiful changes that fall brings. It definitely isn't as pretty as the mountains around Utah, but living in a treeless city, I'll take it. I loved the Quaker trees! They're yellow now and soon they'll be red. I told Erik, we definitely have to go back for that. I love watching the season change! We walked around, showed Avery the trees and it was the funniest thing. She just laughed and laughed. She loved all the trees! A guy walked by and said, "wow she's high off of the fresh air!" It was so fun to watch her enjoy herself so much. I love doing stuff with my family. To me, they are the most important thing in the world!

Another Sunday Thought!

I've been on my book kick. Who knew reading books for pleasure and not for deadlines could be so enjoyable? Well, a week ago, I finished the Sheri Dew book and moved on to the book Covenant Hearts. Now days, society is striving to redefine marriage, which is something we as members of the Church hold very sacred. The L.D.S. Church and many other Christian faiths have joined forces, with a goal to pass a bill in congress that marriage will remain between man and wife. This book explains how marriage is such an important part of our exaltation, our ability to love the way Christ does-selflessly, and it's role in our salvation. I love, love, love it! It is a good read. Honestly, and I'm not just saying this, I view my marriage in a whole new light! It is another recommendation for sure! I have some fun pics to post of our weekend so no worries, I won't keep bombarding you all with Sunday thoughts!

A Sunday thought!

My cute friend Erin has been putting Sunday thoughts on her blog, and I love them. They help me to remember to make Sunday's distinct from the rest of the days of the week, and they are inspiring as well. So, here is my thought for Sunday. A few weeks ago, we had the missionaries over for dinner and as we were finished, they asked if they could close with a scripture and a prayer. The scripture was amazing and reminded me of why, and how I became a member of the church. The scripture talked about making the home like a temple, a place for our father in heaven and a place where the spirit can dwell. He said he can always tell the homes that put heavenly father first. You can see it on the walls, you can feel the spirit and you can see it in the hearts of the family. Truthfully, that is why I joined the church! For all my friends growing up, I want you to know that is exactly what I felt in your homes, and I fell in love with that feeling. Dusty, yours for sure left an impression! I love your family. Chante, Lindsay L, Lindsey T, Angie, yours was a huge impact! Your brother even baptized me. The list could go on for a while but what I'm trying to say is that, that scripture couldn't be more true. I always felt something different in those homes and I can only hope that our home will be that way for our kids and their friends. Since I have finished school, I have dedicated my self to reading more church books. The first one is Sheri Dew's: If life were easy, it wouldn't be hard. So far it is a great book. It reminds me of what this life is really about. It brings me back to reality and reminds me we are in this world for a purpose and not of it. So if anyone is looking for a good read, this one is great. I highly recommend it.

TeEtHiNg TiRaDe aNd MoRe!!

Welcome to the hell that is the teething stage! After reaching her ten month mark, Avery has no teeth. Her bottom gums are turning white, and she seems impossible these days. The moody, onery, whiny, screaming, little monkey, has me at my wits end. With Erik in school so much, I don't get a very good break. Feeling guilty that I lack sympathy, I find it so difficult when she is pushing my face away, throwing a fit when I change her diaper, or getting her dressed, is impossible to feed, and simply isn't her sweet little self. These are the moments that try my patience as a mother. The once cute coos, giggles and talking that woke me up, has been replaced by shrieks, screams, and squeals that make me cringe. If the outside reflected how I am feeling on the inside, I'm sure to look like Cruella! My eyes would be blood shot, my hair in a frinzy, and ears ringing non stop from the new found high pitch scream that Avery now uses. Please tell me I am not alone in my misery! Tell me it is only a stage and it will pass, tell me that although I feel like she will be an only child, I will feel ready to have a second at some point. I don't want to be Cruella anymore. I just need to hear that this is normal for moms and baby's to go through.

Sincerely,
The frazzled, impatient, unsympathetic, madusa mom!

Avery Elle Foisy!!!

As Avery grows and grows, I have lacked in recording her progress! So, I thought I would post a few pictures of our little monkey, getting into everything, and tell you a little about her!! She is 10 months old on the tenth, weighs probably 16 to 17 lbs, she crawls everywhere, and she loves to stand! She walks around the couch and our ottoman. She is pretty eager to walk. She tried to walk to me but fell flat on her bum. She has stood on her own but only for a few seconds. I caught her doing it, I gasped, scared her and then she fell. Her favorite foods are green beans and peaches! She loves for us to chase her. She laughs and screams when we finally get her. That is her favorite game. She is so fun and we love having her in our family! We love you baby Aves!!

TaGgEd!!!

I've been tagged by Stephanie!!
Here are the rules:
1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
5. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.
6. Let your tagger know when your entry is up.

So here it goes!

1- I am not a morning person! I'm more of a night owl. I hate waking up early and that has been the hardest part of mother hood. Hearing the cry, and not wanting to get up to get her. Isn't that so sad?

2- I'm smarter now than I was in high school. I seriously was the worst student. I never did home work and I didn't care. It totally bit me in the butt during my college years.

3- I love to decorate my house! Ever since I've become a stay at home mom, I've become kind of obsessed with it. I'm sure it will only get worse when I move into my new house.

4- I love, love chocolate! Anything chocolate, I can't stay away. It's my favorite treat!

5- I love to sing to Avery! I make up stupid songs about fruits and vegetables when I'm feeding her. She loves it though!

6- I really want to learn to scuba dive. I'm sure it's not that hard but I've never tried it. I would love to do it on a vacation in Hawaii! Yeah right, with Erik in school, that dream is years away!

I tag, Brynn Conder, since she hasn't had the opportunity yet, Nicole Manuele, Erin Woodbury, Melanie Foremaster, Michelle Heideman, and Lacei Child.

HeLlO hOuSe!!!

This is our house at the moment. Yes small and not so fancy on the outside but, we got some awesome stuff on the inside. We're super excited to own a home again. Leaving our house in Washington Fields was hard. This house is 1650 square feet. It's not huge, but it's perfect for us and our current situation. We are so grateful to be able to own a nice home while Erik prepares for and is in dental school. Most students live in more humble circumstances but in Vegas, it's not safe to do so. So, we are thrilled to have this house while he works hard in school. It is going to be pretty nice inside and I can't wait to show everyone!
