aVeRy'S BiG gIrL bEd!!

So this is Avery's big girl bed! If it looks a little odd, color wise, it's because we antiqued it! We've done it to the other furniture in her room like her self and her wood table so we thought it would be fun to do it to her new bed too. I like how it turned out. She looooooves it and is doing so well with it. Don't mind the lack of blankets, I am making her big girl blanket (don't know if you remember me posting a picture of it a while back) but I have to finish it so that is soon to come. I can't believe our girl is growing up so fast! I'm so excited to have another one to snuggle in the near months!

Officially a BIG GIRL!!!

This post may seem like it should have occurred a while ago, but we have finally taken the front of Avery's crib off and she is officially a "big" girl! We waited because 1- She never climbed out until recently so why would we right? 2- She started to climb out but only did it when she woke up in the morning, so no big deal. I liked having the front on cause she could still get out but also, I knew she wasn't going to fall out. Well we purchased her actual twin bed and it will be delivered this Saturday! I'm so excited so we thought we better get her ready for that. Last night was the first night the front was off and we've discovered her attachment to her crib. While Erik was taking it off she kept saying, "don't break it daddy!" It was kind of funny. Then, we tried to put a rail on it and she said, "No, don't put that on there!" so we thought well, we'll just put some fluffy stuff on the floor then and see how she does. She did great! I of course didn't sleep well cause I was so worried my sweet girl would fall out and be scared. I checked on her at 1:00 A.M. and witnessed her almost fall out but she caught her self and went right back to sleep. Erik checked on her this morning and she was snoozing like a champ. She came into my room at 7:30 and all was well. This has been a pretty smooth transition! Let's hope it stays that way!

Alfredo by request!!!

I had a friend request that I put this Alfredo recipe on my blog so Linds, here you go!!! :) I made this for dinner the other night at our Eclipse party and it was tasty, it's one of my family's favs. But, I have to warn you, it's fattening!! Lol and you need to serve it right away. You don't want the sauce to sit on the noodles for too long or it dries out. I hope a few of you will try it and love it as much as I do!
Alfredo Sauce
8 oz cream cheese, softened, cut into cubes. (Makes it easier for melting)
1 stick of butter!!! Aaah that's right a whole stick!
3/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup of milk

Let this melt together in either a sauce pan on the stove top or in a crock pot. The
cream cheese takes a while so don't worry if it's looking a little chunky. Just keep stirring and eventually it will all melt together. If it is looking really thick, which sometimes it does, add more
milk, it will thin it out. I usually do add more just because I don't like it super thick.

Enjoy!!!!! I looooove it!

Pull myself up and out!!!

So with this pregnancy I have experienced an array of emotions. Some good, some bad, some just plain ol' crazy. Strangely, ever since I have been pregnant, I hate this town. And when I say hate, I mean hate. Did I hate it before? No. I didn't love it however, but I could tolerate it. Now, I just plain hate it. Last weekend we went to a family reunion in St. George, and I cried on our way home. I did not want to return to Vegas. Weird? I know. Maybe it's because my mom and sister are in St. George, I lived there for 17 years of my life and I just want to be with my fam. I'm in a total slump! I don't have any desire or motivation to do anything hardly. In fact, I would consider myself really depressed. Why? I'm not even sure. I'm starting to feel better, which is great. I'm still super tired and pretty much are in bed by nine. I think I just miss my old routine and actually feeling good. I miss having a desire to do things. I'm just praying this will pass because I don't recall having these feelings when I was pregnant with Avery but then again, I worked full time and went to school full time. Now, I'm just home to focus on the hate for this town and my lack of motivation. A decision has been made. I need to pull myself up and out of this slump. It's not doing anybody any good!

We are still here, I promise!!

Yes, I have neglected the blog. Truth be told, I just haven't felt good. I don't sleep well, I have nausea, I'm super hot, which I wasn't with Avery. This baby is a little toaster! Here are a couple of reasons I think it may be a boy. 1- It's just like Erik, HOT!! Although Erik is hot in the way he looks, that's not what I mean. I mean, I am on fire all the time. Erik is the one waking up in the middle of the night cold, while I'm sweating. Usually, it's the other way around. 2- This kid like most boys, requires lots of calories. I have to eat like every two hours and although nothing sounds good, I have to force feed myself or I am sick. I don't remember that with Aves. Now I know those things don't really mean anything. They are just thoughts of mine, they make me laugh actually. Well lately things have been dull since I feel like poop, but my dad came into town a couple of weeks ago, which I love and Avery went to a fun birthday party. We always love hanging out with friends and are glad for the invite!

Our Lately.......

It's been awhile so I figured I better post our lately. Not too much going on here. Just tired and sick. I pretty much lay on the couch for approximately three hours a day. I know, pathetic! Any who, Avery got invited to a birthday party last weekend. My friend Shauni's little cutie pie Aiden turned one! She had such a cute party for him! Avery was thrilled that it was at the park but all she wanted to do was swing, which about drove me crazy ;)

Last night we had our once monthly girls night out and it was a much need night for me. I needed to get off of the couch and do something to get my mind off of feeling terrible. We watched The Back up Plan, which was really graphic by the way but funny. Then we went to dinner and enjoyed some great conversation. Like I've said before, these girls are just awesome, and I don't know where I would be without them. Regretfully, I didn't get all the girls pictures :( Next time! Kati don't kill me for posting that one of you! I love it!

Easter weekend!!!

For Easter weekend we went to the Coral Pink sand dunes, which has been a family tradition in Erik's family for years. It's always fun to be with the family and hang out outside but this year it was cold, snowing and raining part of the time and the wind was wicked. I was sick from pregnancy and a wonderful UTI so it was kind of a struggle for me, but I'm so glad we got to see family, that's the most important part. We had an Easter egg hunt for the kids and they also had to find their Easter baskets. Avery loved finding the eggs, she couldn't have cared less about the Easter basket, but I sure liked what was in inside. We got her books, Bugs Life, a purse, stuff to put in the purse, and I made her a cute skirt and bought a shirt to go with it and of course candy. Here's some pics of our fun weekend and one cute little stinker!
Notice Avery's "Mr Boo" in this picture. What ever will we do when
his head falls off?

Announcing.............

So I don't know why it is so difficult for me to keep this info to myself. It really shouldn't be and I really should but I can't. I guess I just like people to know why I feel like crap and am incredibly ornery plus, we are just really excited. We are expecting baby #2 Dec. 3rd, which is the perfect timing. Erik will be on break from his first semester of dental school, which will give him a couple of weeks home with our newest addition. Avery will make an awesome big sister and she keeps telling us she wants baby brother. However, it sounds more like "I want baby bruder." We honestly don't care what the sex is, just as long as it is healthy. As of now, I am nauseated, tired, and basically have no energy. I want to eat all the time cause eating takes the edge off of the nausea, but among that, I'm going to do my best to enjoy the pregnancy, eat right, and continue to exercise. Fun pics of Easter coming soon!! Yes, I am a slacker!

Ms. Independent.

It is a difficult day when your baby decides she is independent and no longer needs the help of her mom and dad. That day too however, can be also a very funny one. Last night I was on the phone while cooking dinner, Erik too was on the phone so poor Avery couldn't get anyone's attention. So when she had to go potty, she took it upon herself. After I hung up the phone, I was searching everywhere for Avery only to find her sitting on the potty in the dark. I turned on the light and she said "I go pee pee." Well that was certainly true however, she peed while trying to hoist herself onto the potty. She eventually got up there but not quick enough I guess. There was a puddle of pee right next to the potty and on the rug. Bless her heart for trying she is such a smart girl and thinks she can do it all on her own. Oh how I love her!
