A trip to St. George

This weekend, we went to St. George for my one of my best friends, Dusty's, baby shower and tons of errands. Seriously, I love this girl. We have been friends since we were ten and I'm so glad we've been able to stay close. We lived together for two years before she left me for her hubby Brock. Lol. She is having a boy and she has the cutest tummy ever! I'm so excited for her to become a mommy. she will be great! Also, we hung out with my sis and took the kids to feed the ducks, then Erik's mom surprised us and came to St. George so she watched Avery and took her to the park while we went to a movie. At least we got to have a date among a pretty crazy weekend and that was much needed. I got to see people I hadn't seen in awhile and that's always nice. I love going home and I miss it a lot!My cute niece Kylie!! It was so funny, she was throwing whole pieces of bread in the water and the ducks were going nuts!

HERE ARE MY SIX HAPPY THINGS!!!

1-I'm happy when I get to spend the day with Erik and Avery. The two of them make me so happy! Plus, I love all the help with Aves. Let's face it, sometimes I just need a break!

2-The gospel makes me happy. I love that I have the truth in my life and I know that my family is forever!

3-I get extremely happy when I get Avery out of bed in the mornings. She always has a big smile on her face and there is no better way to start the day then with a smile from my precious girl!

4-Exercising makes me happy. Although I don't do as much as I would like cause I'm waiting for the Golds gym to get finished right by my house, I do go walking and when those endorphins get going, it sure does make me happy!

5-Having my time to do whatever I want which is usually reading. It makes me happy to escape into a world of fiction meanwhile escaping my somewhat boring life at home.

6- It makes me happy to see my husband succeed in school. He works so hard and does so well. He deserves to have a good career, plus I can't wait to reap all the benefits! ;)

I tag-Nicole(don't hate me for it!) Hannah, Chante, Mckenna, Angie, and Lyndsi Martin!

hApPy VaLeNtInEs dAy!

Happy Valentines day all! Today was the perfect day! Avery slept in till after eight, which rarely happens these days. Erik and I woke up at seven, laid in bed and watched a movie till she woke up. Then, I told him to stay in bed while I got a surprise ready for him and Aves. He had to work part of the day so I wanted to make him a big breakfast. I decorated the table, and made heart shaped pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs with cheese and juice. It was fun to have him come out and have it all ready. We got Aves this cute little Valentines frog and a bouquet of balloons which she loved and has carried around with her all day! Erik was so cute. While I was doing breakfast, he was getting my Valentines ready. We vowed not to buy each other a present this year so he made me this basket with these treats and ten hearts that told me ten reasons why he loves me. They were funny and cute. Then for dinner we got Panda Express and played with Aves at the park. It may not have been the fanciest Valentines but with my husband so busy with work and school, I couldn't have asked for more! It was great! Those two are the loves of my life and I'm just happy to spend time with them.

Mommy to be!

Baby Aves will make a good little mommy one day! On Sunday, she came out of her room holding her baby and her bottle. She kept trying to feed her baby. It's just amazing to me that she was doing that without seeing anyone do it. Kids are so observant. She even walks around patting it's back. I love watching her grow and learn new things. She is the biggest sweetheart!

All things Avery a.k.a little mischievous!

A little list of mischievous acts by our sweet pea!
First though here's Avery at the park with her new boyfriend Tristan!! Aren't they are so cute? Whenever she goes too far, he will go grab her hand and lead her back! My friend Crystal and I were laughing so hard. He's such a little helper. They play so good together. He's two and I'm already planning their wedding!
1-Lately, she has just been cracking me up or surprising me to know end! It's like over night she's doing something new. Whenever she wants to go out side, she goes to the front door and reaches for the handle. Of course, she can't reach but it's so funny to watch.
2-Next, she has this bear (a.k.a Mr. Bear! I don't know where the name came from.) that she sleeps with. No other kids are allowed to touch that bear or she will freak out. She uses him to her advantage though. One night she didn't want to go to bed so she threw him over board. I went in there to see what the fuss was all about, and she's looking down at him with her arms out crying. So I gave him back, she does this three more times. By the third time, I took him away. She really had a come apart but I did not give him back till she had fallen asleep then I put him back into her crib. Little stinker knew it would get our attention and we would come in there.
3-She has discovered how to open her closet. They just slide open so not too tough, but she used to get into some stuff in there that she wasn't supposed to so, I kept telling her no when she would get in there. Finally, I decided to put all the stuff she wasn't allowed to touch up high so that it wasn't a big deal if she opened it. But, she still thinks it's naughty so whenever she wants to get into her closet, she shuts her bedroom door. It makes me laugh cause that right there tells me she's getting into her closet. What a little schemer!!! I just love all of these new moments. It's so much fun!

Attack of the killer geese!

Saturday afternoon, we went to a place called Tule Springs Park. It has tons of ponds, geese, ducks, and peacocks. Avery was loving all those dang birds! I will admit, they made me a little nervous. They are so used to people feeding them that once they see you, they come running. I thought they were going to attack us. They were huge. Actually, I liked the peacocks the best. We had so much fun just letting Avery run around and chase these birds, but I have to laugh because after we were all out of bread, we were walking along a path and one of those geese reached out and bit Erik's leg, then it spit water all over him. It was sooo funny! It totally caught him off guard it was great! This place is definitely awesome for kiddies! Also, it was so funny cause whenever I would give Avery bread to throw, she would just eat it herself! She wasn't sharing! ha ha

"Orange" you glad your not this crazy!

Tacky title I know!!! After moving into our new house, Erik and I thought it was kind of boring and needed some color. This is what we came up with, a split pea soup wall, and a circus tent. At least, that's what they looked like to me before they kind of grew on me. I must say, we went out of our comfort zone with these two rooms. In St. George, we bought our house under the pretense that we would sell it since we knew we would have to move for school. So for that, we stayed pretty neutral. We stained our walls and that was as creative as it got. However, we will be here for awhile so as you can see we went all out, especially in our circus tent of a bedroom!
(I HAVE TO ADD, THERE IS ONLY ONE OF EACH OF THESE WALLS!) I didn't go all the way around the room, that really would have looked like a circus tent if I had. Plus, it looks better in person!

The worst mom in the world!

I am officially the worst mom in the world. Last night, Avery was having a bit of trouble falling asleep. I just thought she was being a stinker because she did the same thing the night before, which is not normal for her. So, before I went to bed, I had gone in there to comfort her three times. I gave her motrin on the third thinking her teeth might be bothering her since she's getting three right now. She finally falls asleep but wakes up at 1:30, then 3 then 5, on the the three o'clock wake up, I gave her a bottle thinking she might be hungry. She didn't have a fever or anything. By the five o'clock wake up, I was annoyed. I could swear she was just being a pooper so I decided to let her fuss. Erik had to get up to go to work anyway so I asked him to go snuggle her. He went into her room and then I hear this, "Babe, she has throw up all of her and all over the bed." Ugh! I shot out of bed like a bat out of #$%& and sure enough, her throw up was everywhere. It looked like ricotta cheese. It was sour and so disgusting. We had to strip her entire bed, take off her clothes, give her a bath, and wipe down her crib. I felt so bad, especially after she threw up the second time in my hand. What a mean mom I am. I would have let her lay in throw up for how long? Good thing I sent Erik in. I seriously feel like the worst mom. Poor baby!!!

I'll do anything.....

Last Saturday, Erik and I started a fun little project of painting stripes in Avery's room. Well, that doesn't go over too well when all her toys and such are in there and she just wants to go in there and play. We had to keep her out so that she wouldn't get into the paint. We shut the door and she followed me around whining. We wanted to go to lunch so I attempted to get ready. She hung out at my feet fussing! So, to quiet the little stinker up, I stuck her in the sink with something to play with. I must say it worked like a charm! See for your self. Basically, I will do anything for a little peace! Can you believe my little girl is fourteen months old! She has three teeth and four on the way. She is into everything and I mean everything! She is so much fun and we love her so much. We are doing her walls one Saturday at a time so that it doesn't disrupt her life too much so we'll have to show you the finished product soon!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year all!!! We had a way fun New Years. This year, our friends Trent and Mandi came down from Richfield with their two cute kids. New years eve, we went to Macaroni grill and just watched Eagle eye (a super good flick!). We went to bed at eleven cause we're losers! New years day we went to Hoover Dam (the biggest man made dam in the U.S.) Who cares though right? No, it was so beautiful! I loved it. It's just amazing that all that structure is man made and was done clear back in the thirties! After, we hit Freemont street. It was a little crowded but pretty cool to see. Aves was loving all the music and lights. She probably would have been entertained all night if we let her. We've had a wonderful holiday season but we're glad to get things back to normal. Avery's schedule has been in shambles. Here are a few captured moments of our fun!
