It may be time.......
For all you fabulous mama's out there, I need your advice. Avery has become an absolute stinker when it comes to leaving her diaper on. She seriously hates it. But, when I stick her on the potty, she doesn't understand that sitting there does not constitute going "potty." She thinks that she has gone. She even goes as far as to ask to wipe! Every night, I have to turn her diaper around and put a onsey on underneath her pajamas just so she wont take her diaper off. For the past couple of days, it has been a nightly ritual of hers and the dang diaper is perfectly dry. My question for you amazing moms is, should I just hang out at home for few days, stick her in panties and start the potty training process even if she doesn't get the concept of going in the potty? She certainly loves to sit on it.

Thats what I did with Samantha! It was a messy couple of days, but I would let her wear her favorite clothes & then she'd pee on them & get SO MAD that they were all wet, after 2 days she figured it out... GOODLUCK! (PS, COVER YOUR COUCH IN OLD TOWELS!)
I just realized that you have a blog-where have I been? I hope it's okay if I add a link on mine?
clbarlowfamily.blogspot.com ( in case you want to add mine.
I think if she is showing that much interest and is dry through the night, she is probably ready. You will probably have to spend a few days at home and go for it. Just give her lots to drink, head to the bathroom every hour-it is a pain for a couple of days, but they will suddenly get it. Good luck!! Even after potty training 4 I really don't know what works best, but somehow they all get it.
She is still young. But I have heard of kids that potty train at that age. I would say try it and if it doesn't work than don't be afraid to go back to diapers...you don't want to scar her and you on potty training.
If you deside to keep the diapers you could always buy a plastic diaper cover to go over the top of her diapers. I am sure it would make it harder to take off.
I have only potty trained Dallin, and he is a boy, so I don't know if my advice will be the best.
With Dallin I stayed home for a whole week, got rid of every diaper in the whole house, put undies on him, gave him lots to drink, and took him to the bathroom every hour (like Lindsey said). Eventually he understood the sensation of having to pee and learned how!
Take your time, like Hannah said, you don't want to scar either of you.
Good luck!
Savannah... OK. I agree with the others about the potty training thing. BUT! I learned that giving them TOO much to drink, makes for a lot more accidents, and usually not making it back to the potty. I actually brought a portable DVD player into the bathroom, books, and just hung out in there for 10 minutes or so while the kids sat on the potty. And then I would run them in every 20 minutes or so (if they didn't go) and make them sit for another five (repeated) until they went. And then of course, they got one M&M after they went! It worked for both of my kids. Good luck!
Oh, and it also helped (Brent thought it was completely disgusting) that I would take the little potty seat (the one that fits on the big toilet) into stores with me if I knew they possibly would have to go. Then they weren't scared of the big nasty potty....
Ug, good luck with that! It is so hard and every kid is different so there is no right way. But those are definitely good signs. I would say give it a try for a couple of days and if she doesn't go for it wait for a few weeks and try again.
