The happiest place on earth!!!

Each year our family takes a trip to California. For the past two years, we've gone to San Diego so this year, we thought we would give Disney Land a try. It did not disappoint! We made reservations for Avery to have lunch with the princesses and it was worth every penny. The food was really good and the fact that every princess came to our table to see her, made it completely worth it. She loved it. She couldn't get enough of the princess stuff. The first day we went to downtown Disney and strolled around, had dinner at the cheesecake factory and then hung out in our hotel and watched the fireworks from our room. The next morning, we hit Disney Land. I thought for sure it would be difficult with Konner but it wasn't. They let him on every ride we went on except one, which was a roller coaster. Of course, we only went on the kiddie rides cause there was no way Erik and I could do adult rides with two kids but that's okay, we really went for Avery anyway. The third day, we went to the beach. It was really windy and not warm enough to swim so we just stayed in our clothes and hung out and played in the sand. Erik and I kept saying how strange it felt to be back at Disney Land because we went there on our honey moon seven and half years ago and it's so fresh in our memory and then seven and a half years later we're there with two kids. It was such a weird thought. We had so much fun on this vacation and I love this tradition that we've started. California every year is a great tradition!

I think I might be a mean mom!

For the past few nights Avery has practically refused to eat dinner, which is probably partially my fault. So, I evaluated her daily eating habits; what she eats for breakfast, lunch, snacks, and I decided, it's no wonder the little monkey doesn't want to eat dinner! It's normal food! So I've made some adjustments to her daily intake and still, she refused and so we told her she can't get down from the table until she eats some. She sat there for an hour two nights in a row! So, on to the next mean demand. I told her if she didn't eat some dinner, she would have to have it for breakfast. Well, here's the thing, I'm not a made to order chef and neither was my mom and I'm grateful to her for that. She made a variety of things for dinner and if we didn't eat, we went to bed hungry. I'm glad because now, I am not a picky eater, and I will eat just about anything (within reason.) Well, the next morning, I heated up her Ginger, sesame chicken with rice and veggies and placed it on the counter for breakfast. She flipped out! (Of course I wasn't really going to make her eat it. I just wanted her to think I was.)  It sat there for about 40 minutes and of course she didn't touch it. So she and I had a conversation about not eating dinner and she promised she would start. I tossed the nasty chicken out and poured her a bowl of cereal. I kid you not, she was thrilled to eat her dinner that night, which was spaghetti, nothing strange. Then she said, "yay, I get to have breastess in the morning!" ha ha, that's how she says it. Anyway, I kind of felt like a mean mom, but I won't have a picky kid who wastes food and thinks all her meals should be fried cheese or chicken nuggets. Might have been a little extreme but worked like a charm!

Decorating for boys can be fun too!

I remember thinking that decorating for a girl couldn't get any funner but I will admit, I have had fun decorating Konner's room too. A couple of my friends have wanted to see his room and just like everything else, his room is slow going, especially because I was on bed rest and such. Here are a few pics of his room however, one thing you should know, I don't like to decorate my nursery's totally baby, because when my babies turn into toddlers, I don't want to have to change anything and they can make a smooth transition. Also, I'm of course not done in here but you get the idea. His theme is old cars, trucks, air planes, and motorcycles. What boy doesn't love that stuff? Heck, I love that stuff, which is why I chose it!

I found this rug when I was pregnant and I loved it! It inspired my whole color theme!

The sweetest things!

The sweetest things in life are my kiddo's. This little family that Erik and I have created is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love my husband, I love my kids, and my life is fantastic!! We are loving every moment with these kids of ours and after they are all grown, I hope we don't look back and have regrets. I am spending as much time with them as I possibly can.
When the movie Mega Mind came out, we had a movie night with Avery and let her stay up late. She had
her own popcorn and her own treats. She was loving it!!

We've started feeding Konner solids. He loves it!!! Boys love to eat!
Also on Sunday, Konner started rolling over. He rolls over and then hates to be stuck on his tummy.

After church last Sunday, Avery was so exhausted, she couldn't even make it through dinner.
 Handsome four month old!
Konner's stats:
Weight-12lbs 9oz- 25th percentile (I have skinny kids!)
Height, 60th percentile. Not exact but in that vicinity.

Breaking Konner's habit!

Konner is inching his way up to four months old! I can't even believe I'm saying that. The time with that kid is just flying by. It really breaks my heart because I love the baby phase and even though each new stage is wonderful in its own way, I always miss the previous one. He is sweeter than sweet can be. He is still my little snuggler. He loves to be held and he definitely loves his mommy. If he sees that I am not the one holding him, he has a response, which is a small little coo that just sounds sad. :(   He is beginning to laugh and without me provoking it. :)  He has attempted to roll over but for the past few days, he hasn't been too interested. He hates tummy time, but so did Avery. He smiles all the time and I don't have to do much to get him going. However, I have yet to catch that cute smile on camera. He's just too fascinated by the camera. He sleeps like a champ, which is why I'm writing this post. He still likes to be swaddled! However, it's causing a bit of a problem. I have one of those Velcro swaddling blankets and they are life saver when a baby is a new born but now, he wiggles himself out all while undoing the blanket. He gets his arms free and then he gets upset. We need to be done! Obviously it is a comfort to him. Avery was simple. She hated being swaddled from day one so no issues. Today, I have spent my day trying to train him. With each nap, I haven't been putting his arms in the blanket, just the lower body. It hasn't gone well. He sleeps for a short period of time then wakes up ticked off! Tonight will be the first night I send him to bed un swaddled. I'm scared. He has been a great sleeper and sleeps through the night, unless he wiggles free, but tonight, I fear I will be up a lot. The only advice I have for myself is to keep at it until he no longer feels like he needs to be swaddled. It feels like I 'm quitting smoking or something. I just want to give in! Any other advice?
