A Sunday thought!

My cute friend Erin has been putting Sunday thoughts on her blog, and I love them. They help me to remember to make Sunday's distinct from the rest of the days of the week, and they are inspiring as well. So, here is my thought for Sunday. A few weeks ago, we had the missionaries over for dinner and as we were finished, they asked if they could close with a scripture and a prayer. The scripture was amazing and reminded me of why, and how I became a member of the church. The scripture talked about making the home like a temple, a place for our father in heaven and a place where the spirit can dwell. He said he can always tell the homes that put heavenly father first. You can see it on the walls, you can feel the spirit and you can see it in the hearts of the family. Truthfully, that is why I joined the church! For all my friends growing up, I want you to know that is exactly what I felt in your homes, and I fell in love with that feeling. Dusty, yours for sure left an impression! I love your family. Chante, Lindsay L, Lindsey T, Angie, yours was a huge impact! Your brother even baptized me. The list could go on for a while but what I'm trying to say is that, that scripture couldn't be more true. I always felt something different in those homes and I can only hope that our home will be that way for our kids and their friends. Since I have finished school, I have dedicated my self to reading more church books. The first one is Sheri Dew's: If life were easy, it wouldn't be hard. So far it is a great book. It reminds me of what this life is really about. It brings me back to reality and reminds me we are in this world for a purpose and not of it. So if anyone is looking for a good read, this one is great. I highly recommend it.

You are so cute and I am glad you shared something too. I remember when I met you, I too felt the spirit around you and I loved getting to know you and talking about life, and the gospel. That book sounds like something I should read. Thanks for recommending it.

Thanks for your thought- what a great idea!! Yeah, Addison is really tall! I had her to the doctor for her check-up and she is in the 80th percentile for height! She is 19.3 lbs and that is the 20%. Addison started to get tired of unwrapping gifts, because we kept taking them away so she could unwrap more presents, and she was getting mad because all her cousins were playing with the toys she had unwrapped and we just kept making her unwrap more! I ended up unwrapping a few by myself at the end! It was lots of fun! Are you guys headed to Richfield any time soon?

I got the chills reading your post....It makes me want to be a better person and I really need to get back on track. It is so stupid to make excuses like you don't have time for things, but just 10 minutes a day or even Sundays, or whatever is so worth feeling the spirit and makes your day so much better! Thank you Savannah, I needed that.

Yeah, we just switched Addi's seat around yesterday. I asked my doctor about it at her appointment and she kind of just said it was up to me, that her weight was close enough that she would be fine. She said that the "experts" are now even saying 15 months instead of 1 year! Since we got the new seat and had it backwards, it has been such a pain, because you can't see them at all or reach anything to them and they're at the point where they want to look around and see! My doctor just said wait it out until you feel comfortable. I thinks shes fine, she's pretty strong. How much does Avery weigh now? We went somewhere last night with it switched and it was so fun to see her! I think we are going to be in Richfield for Thanksgiving too, so that will be fun to see you guys again! Sorry for the long comments!
